Folk music with an Arabic twist
New York, USA
Michael Isaak is an emerging artist, songwriter, and oud player from Los Angeles, California.
The Egyptian-American pinned his genre as “Arabesque folk,” a sound shaped by guitar-driven songwriting and traditional Arabic instrumentation.
The oud is featured as a central instrument in Isaak’s album The Carpet Maker, which reflects on the diaspora experience and explores what cultural identity can sound like.
Upcoming Album: The Carpet Maker
